A guardrail and handrail assembly mounts to a concrete floor slab with vertical members spaced to prevent the passage of a four-inch diameter sphere up to a height of thirty-four inches. The guardrail stands at a height of three feet six inches, while the handrail is positioned at three feet above the floor. Intermediate bars measure one inch in diameter with one-and-a-half-inch spacing.
