Partition penetrations for rectangular ducts, pipes, and electrical junction boxes through non-structural metal framing and gypsum board walls. The assembly incorporates acoustic blanket insulation within the stud cavity, partition hangers on each side of the partition, and a maximum half-inch gap between the gypsum board edge and the duct frame opening. Non-rated partitions receive acoustical joint sealant at the perimeter, while fire-rated partitions are sealed with a fire-resistive joint assembly. Electrical junction boxes on opposite sides of the wall are offset by one stud space minimum to maintain acoustical separation.
