A two-hour rated head-of-wall joint assembly ties a rated gypsum board partition to a structural concrete floor slab and steel beam. The partition framing consists of minimum 3 5/8-inch steel studs fitted with a deflection track at the top. Mineral wool forming material is installed flush to adjacent surfaces within the joint gap. A spray-applied fire sealant with a minimum 1/2-inch overlap is applied to the joint interfaces on adjacent surfaces. The structural concrete floor slab is supported by a beam finished with spray-applied fireproofing.
