A gypsum board ceiling soffit transitions into a recessed linear LED light fixture supported by light gauge steel framing studs and a 2x2 angle bracket. Wood blocking is provided as required behind the vertical framing to secure the angle bracket and drywall edge. Typical hanging stud partitions form the perimeter boundaries of the soffit recess, finished with gypsum wallboard on both sides.
