Suspended acoustical ceiling systems require seismic bracing with a compression strut spaced at twelve feet on center maximum. The strut is sized using electrical metallic tubing ranging from one-half inch up to five-foot spans, three-quarters inch up to eight-foot spans, and one inch up to ten-foot spans. An angle clip pinned to the ceiling structure with a Hilti fastener secures the top of the compression strut. Pairs of twelve-gauge splay wires at forty-five degrees run parallel to both main tees and cross tees. Twelve-gauge hanger wires are set in the concrete slab within a conduit and spaced at four feet on center maximum.
