A recessed fire extinguisher cabinet is framed within a non-rated metal stud partition, utilizing two layers of five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum wallboard on the corridor side with fire tape to maintain a one-hour assembly where scheduled. The cabinet is secured to the framing per the manufacturer's installation instructions, with a portable fire extinguisher provided per CBC Section 906. Separate wall jamb conditions illustrate a continuous fire barrier at a wall partition intersection, as well as a tilt-up concrete panel meeting a furring wall with a half-inch deflection space filled with fire caulk at fire-rated walls and acoustical sealant elsewhere.
