Gypsum wallboard fastened to metal framing members with edge trim forms the ceiling at the transition point. Suspended grid runners and ceiling tiles hanging from support wires comprise the adjacent acoustical tile ceiling. A specialized transition molding connects the two systems, maintaining alignment and a clean aesthetic break between the different ceiling types.
