An HSS4x2x1/4 vertical mullion spans between the underside of the Level 4 concrete deck and the top of the Level 3 slab. At the top, the mullion connects via an L6x4x1/4x0'-9" angle on each side secured with a three-quarter-inch diameter A325 through-bolt in a long vertical slotted hole. Two Hilti KB-TZ expansion anchors secure the angle connection to the underside of the Level 4 concrete deck with a two-inch minimum embedment. At the base, a 9"x2"x1/2" base plate welded to the mullion with a one-quarter-inch fillet weld and PJP weld attaches to the Level 3 slab with two three-eighths-inch diameter KB-TZ expansion anchors. A half-inch non-shrink grout layer sits beneath the base plate over the concrete slab.
