A landscape irrigation lateral line trench measuring three feet deep by one foot wide is cut into compacted subgrade. A schedule forty polyvinyl chloride lateral line rests on a two-inch pipe bedding layer at the bottom of the trench. A tracer wire runs directly above the pipe within the backfill zone. The trench is backfilled with approved excavated material up to finish grade, with the top six inches specifically designated for this backfill. Notes indicate that drip lines may be turned off after plant establishment, and rotor lateral lines are installed above ground on staked polyvinyl chloride lines covered lightly with mulch.
