The ladder assembly consists of seven-eighths inch diameter steel rods with a non-slip finish, spaced at one foot on center. The ladder is secured to the pit wall using two and one-half inch by two and one-half inch by three-eighths inch clip angles at the top and bottom mounting points. All welds are to be ground smooth, and the entire assembly is specified to be galvanized. The ladder location must be coordinated with the elevator manufacturer requirements relative to the top of the elevator pit slab and the lowest level served.
