A compressible slip track secures the top of the metal stud partition to the structure above, allowing vertical movement with one-quarter-inch powder-actuated fasteners spaced at two feet on center and two inches from the end. Number ten screws connect each stud to the slip track while allowing the stud to move vertically. Internal bridging stabilizes the studs mid-height. The bottom track anchors to the concrete slab using five-thirty-seconds-inch diameter powder-actuated fasteners spaced at twenty-four inches on center with a one-and-one-quarter-inch minimum penetration.
