A C12x20.7 or equal stair stringer anchors to a concrete slab on grade with a thickened slab footing. The stringer connects using an L 3x3x5/16 by six-inch angle secured with a three-quarter-inch diameter expansion bolt. The continuous thickened slab footing measures one foot six inches wide by one foot deep and contains two continuous number 5 reinforcing bars with three inches of clear cover. A quarter-inch fillet weld secures the assembly. Actual stairs are pre-engineered by the steel fabricator and require shop drawings for review.
