A metal pipe railing assembly is anchored at the edge of a concrete floor slab cast over metal decking supported by a steel beam. The top rail consists of a one-and-a-half-inch diameter metal pipe positioned three feet six inches above the finished slab. A typical bottom rail of the same diameter is located one and a half inches above the concrete surface. Vertical posts extend through the slab edge adjacent to the supporting structural steel member.
