This plan detail shows the jamb condition of a bay window meeting an insulated metal panel exterior wall assembly. An Efco storefront window system with a roller shade guide sits adjacent to a 1 1/2-inch by 1 1/4-inch welded steel L-angle. A 1/2-inch thick Cor-ten finish steel window surround is anchored to the substrate with shims and fasteners set in sealant. The interior includes a 3/4-inch finish plywood bay window lining over a vapor retarder and rigid insulation. Exterior cladding consists of 2-inch insulated metal panels mounted over 1/2-inch vented hat channels and HSS posts, finished with metal trim pieces and sealant with backer rod.
