An exterior loading dock guardrail assembly consists of a one-and-a-half-inch diameter painted steel pipe guardrail. The top rail is positioned at a height of three feet six inches above the walking surface. Vertical balusters or infill members are spaced with a maximum four-inch clearance between them. The bottom rail maintains a maximum four-inch clearance above the dock slab.
