A two-hour fire-rated shaft wall assembly occurs at a ceiling transition outside corner. The shaft side features one-inch shaft liner secured by a sixteen-gauge J runner fastened with two screws into each stud. A steel track is mechanically fastened at a maximum of twenty-four inches on center. Firestop sealant is applied at the joint for the rated assembly per test report WHI 495-PSH-0154/0167.
