This wall head assembly connects a non-rated shaft wall perpendicular to a fireproofed structural steel beam, allowing for structural deflection at the ceiling junction. The metal stud framing terminates with a stud-width slotted J-runner track, paired with a metal stud compensation channel and packed void space filled with mineral wool insulation. Twenty-gauge Z-clips spaced at twenty-four inches on center maximum are fastened to the substrate prior to the application of spray-on fireproofing on the structural beam.
