An HSS 4x4x5/16 steel post is placed at the masonry corner inside a fully grouted cell of split-face 8x8x16 concrete masonry unit blocks. A base plate connection is anchored with one-half-inch diameter by six-inch hex head studs spaced at twenty-four inches on center and welded to two sides. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld secures the steel assembly.
