An articulating dual wall arm fastens to a structural wall plate, which is anchored through five-eighths-inch gypsum board into metal stud blocking with eight quarter-twenty by two-and-a-half-inch machine screws centered on the studs per the manufacturer requirements. Metal stud framing provides back-up support behind the gypsum wallboard assembly.
