A two-stage floor drain is set into a concrete slab featuring a maximum two percent slope toward the drain. A slurry bond coat is applied to the structural concrete as necessary beneath a sloped mortar bed embedded with sixteen gauge two-inch by two-inch welded galvanized steel mesh. A continuous waterproofing membrane extends across the assembly, overlaid with large and heavy-duty or medium bed mortar. Drainage composite filler is positioned adjacent to the drain body, where a joint is finished with silicone sealant and bond breaker tape. Epoxy grout fills the spaces between the tile wearing surface.
