A three and five-eighths inch by eighteen gauge diagonal wall brace is spaced at eight feet on center above a non-bearing steel stud wall. The brace features clip flanges formed into shoes at each end for attachment. At the overhead structure, four screws secure the clip into the lowest portion of the corrugated deck without penetrating the roofing, or alternatively attach to the bottom chords of the joist using deep leg tracks or clip angles. At the lower connection, four screws fasten the clip shoe directly into the top track of the non-bearing steel studs. The diagonal member meets the wall at an angle of approximately forty-five degrees.
