A two-foot-two-inch low wall flanks the stairs, finished with a sloped painted wood cap at the top. The wall surface is covered with wall carpet and features an aisle light coordinated with the mechanical and electrical plans. Stair treads include a two-inch alternate colored lighting strip at the top and bottom nosing edges. The base of the assembly incorporates a rubber base notched to fit at the flooring transition strip along the edge of the riser.
