A 16-gauge clip angle measuring 1-1/2 inches by 1-1/2 inches connects the horizontal bridging to each metal stud at every bridging line, secured with four number-10 screws as indicated. For six-inch studs, the assembly uses a 2-1/2 inch by 16-gauge horizontal bridging member with a 1/2-inch flange. For 3-5/8 inch or four-inch studs, the assembly uses a 1-1/2 inch by 16-gauge horizontal bridging member with a 1/2-inch flange. A typical bridging splice utilizes two number-10 screws with a specified overlap.
