This window jamb detail shows the transition from a backup wall assembly to a glazed window unit. The backup wall receives a weather-resistive barrier membrane, liquid-applied flashing prestrip, and two inches of mineral fiber insulation supported by Cascadia clips with one-and-three-quarter-inch vertical metal Z-girts. Glass-fiber reinforced concrete cladding is installed over prefinished sheet metal trim, which runs over the vertical metal Z-girts. The window frame is secured via intermittent window attachment clips set in silicone sealant at the line of the air barrier seal. A one-half-inch silicone sealant joint with a backer rod ties into the continuous seal around the window perimeter, while a silicone sealant heel bead runs the full perimeter of the interior glazed insulated glass unit. Silicone sealant is terminated onto flashing at the head and sill.
