This compression strut detail connects a suspended ceiling hanger wire to the underside of a concrete slab or metal deck. A ceiling clip by Hilti or approved equal fastens directly to the structural slab or deck at the centerline of the flute. A vertical hanger wire ties into the assembly with twelve-gauge wire secured by three tight turns. A number ten self-tapping sheet metal screw fastens through electrical metallic tubing with a maximum five-eighths inch spacing.
