An intersecting partition terminates at a continuous wall assembly with a control joint detail. Sound attenuation blanket is compressed to fill the opening within the stud cavity at the sound rated partition. An L-bead finishes the gypsum board edge at the intersection. Joint sealant and backer rod seal the junction along the line of the partition control joint.
