A J-runner top track is secured to the underside of a concrete-filled metal deck with a defined gap left between the top of the steel studs and the track. Mineral wool is packed into the metal deck flutes across the full width, and gypsum board stops short of the deck. An additional layer of gypsum board is provided where required by rating.
