A vertical steel pipe or conduit passes through a concrete floor assembly. The annular space around the penetration is filled with a one-and-a-half-inch-thick mineral wool batt insulation. A half-inch bead of sealant is applied to both the top and bottom sides of the insulation layer. Locations and sizing of the steel pipe or conduit are coordinated with mechanical drawings. The installation must comply with UL System Number C-AJ-1072 and all associated Underwriters Laboratories requirements.
