Suspended acoustical ceiling systems require perimeter support using a closure angle of at least two inches in width. One end of the ceiling grid attaches rigidly to the closure angle using BERC2 clips or pop rivets spaced at a maximum of eight inches on center. The opposite unattached end rests upon the closure angle with a three-quarter-inch clearance from the wall and allows free sliding movement. For unattached walls, a loose screw with a total travel of one and one-half inches is installed through the main runner web to restrict separation while permitting lateral displacement.
