A compressible fill material combined with a backer rod and sealant seals the joint at the top of the below-grade wall assembly. Waterproofing membrane is applied directly to the exterior concrete wall face. A drainage mat with filter fabric and below-grade perimeter insulation are installed against the waterproofing layer.
