Metal stud framing forms the core of these partition assemblies, packed with acoustical insulation between the framing members. The non-rated acoustical partition features one layer of gypsum board on one side, and one layer of one-half inch fire-retardant treated plywood backing paired with one layer of one-half inch Homasote on the opposing side. The two-hour rated acoustical partition configuration utilizes two layers of gypsum board on each side over metal studs, conforming to Underwriters Laboratories design U411 with sound transmission class ratings.
