A one-and-one-quarter-inch nominal steel pipe handrail is finished with a painted handrail support and a two-and-a-half-inch radius bend returning toward the tread line. The handrail maintains a three-inch clearance above the stair surface with a one-quarter-inch offset at the return. Supports are spaced with a twelve-inch minimum clearance from the end returns, while the middle span varies according to field conditions.
