Two intersecting structural steel angle braces, sized as L4x4x3/8, connect through a central half-inch gusset plate. The diagonal members are welded to the one-half-inch plate using quarter-inch fillet welds on the far side as indicated by the weld symbols. Additional plates are positioned with a one-inch clearance gap from the member ends. The connection detail coordinates intersecting lateral load-resisting system members in steel structures.
