Precast concrete treads and risers bear against a concrete wall, supported by a steel stringer. A painted steel handrail and guardrail mounts directly to the concrete wall face with a bracket positioned one foot ten inches above the tread level. The handrail clearance is maintained at one and one-half inches from the concrete wall surface.
