An eighteen-inch by eighteen-inch concrete pad made of twenty-eight-day three-thousand psi concrete surrounds a cast-iron clean-out box set flush with grade. A clean-out plug is threaded into the top of the piping inside the box, which is topped with a cast-iron cover reading sanitary. A six-inch polyvinyl chloride pipe connects the clean-out assembly to the underground building piping. The clean-out box is independent of the pipe and therefore is free to move with the settlement of the ground.
