A plastic laminate countertop is secured to adjacent back and side walls, featuring a 3 millimeter edge band and a continuous sealant bead at the wall scribe joint. A wire grommet is positioned two and one half inches from the back edge for cable management, with locations coordinated by the owner. The countertop is supported underneath by a concealed structural brace anchored to concealed metal backing in the wall studs using three and one half inch number ten flat head wood screws with grommets spaced at twelve inches on center. A file cabinet provided by the owner fits beneath the counter as indicated on plans.
