Cold-formed steel stud framing utilizes horizontal bridging secured by clip angles at each stud intersection along the bridging line. For six-inch studs, a two-and-a-half-inch by sixteen-gauge member with a half-inch flange is used, while three-and-five-eighths-inch or four-inch studs receive a one-and-a-half-inch by sixteen-gauge member with a half-inch flange. A one-and-a-half by one-and-a-half-inch by sixteen-gauge clip connects the bridging to the stud using four number-ten screws. Bridging splices overlap by six inches and are fastened with two number-ten screws.
