Cold-formed steel framing connects against a concrete wall for both stud and joist conditions. The stud condition features a 20-gauge deflection track secured to the concrete wall using 0.177-inch shank diameter shot pins at 24 inches on center. The track attaches to each stud with studs sized per plan and gypsum board applied as required. The joist condition utilizes a 16-gauge continuous track anchored to the concrete wall with identical shot pins and connects to the steel joist using number 10 screws at top and bottom. A one-half-inch fill with caulking is applied on both sides at the joint between the framing and the concrete wall.
