This slab-on-grade construction joint features a keyed profile with a continuous key sized at one-third of the slab depth at mid-depth. The edge of the concrete slab includes a one-eighth-inch radius tooled edge, with a one-and-a-half-inch dimension indicated at the joint interface. A number four continuous reinforcing bar runs at the edge, accompanied by a reinforcing bar that can be continuous at the contractor's option with a splice length indicated per plan. The slab thickness is designated as "t", with thickening or tapered edge conditions detailed at one-foot six-inch increments from the joint.
