A 6 inch main fire protection piping hanger assembly is suspended from a wood deck and a 32 inch or 36 inch steel joist. The main pipe is supported by a 6 inch ring and connected via a 2.5 inch flexible coupling, a 2.5 inch by 0 to 7 inch galvanized threaded end riser nipple of schedule 7 pipe, and a 2.5 inch firelock tee with rigid couplings. Lateral stability is provided by 2.5 inch branch lines connected using firelock tees and 2.5 inch rigid couplings. The entire assembly is anchored to the wood deck using a 2.5 inch nailer with SSB hanger provided by others, anchored with a 0.5 inch by 1 foot 7 inch all threaded rod with two nuts and washers, alongside a 0.25 inch by 2 inch sammy swg 20 rod and a 0.375 inch by 5.5 inch all threaded rod at 2.5 inches. A weight calculation table specifies a total load of 648 pounds based on a 6 inch water-filled pipe at 23.03 pounds per foot, a 15 percent fitting allowance, a 250 pound temporary load, and a 15 foot hanger spacing.
