The stair assembly consists of a steel pan tread with a two-inch concrete infill, supported by a two-inch by two-inch steel angle that is welded to the stringer. The stringer is constructed from a hollow structural section measuring twelve inches by two inches by one-quarter inch, which is painted where exposed. A one and one-half inch outside diameter steel pipe serves as the main vertical member, continuously welded to the stringer and ground smooth. The tread nosing includes a two-inch contrast strip as part of the scheduled finish. All steel pan and riser components are welded at the seams and to the angle clips at each stringer, with the undersides painted if exposed.
