A pipe or conduit four inches in diameter or smaller passes through a twelve-inch concrete masonry unit wall assembly rated for one or two hours. The annular space between the pipe and the wall opening is firmly packed with mineral wool insulation as required to accommodate the fill material. A minimum of one and one-quarter inches of sealant is applied within the annulus and finished flush with both surfaces of the wall. The insulated pipe is wrapped in nominal one-and-one-half-inch thick hollow cylindrical heavy-density glass fiber units jacketed on the outside with an all-service jacket in accordance with Underwriters Laboratories system number W-J-5013.
