An aluminum window unit rests on three-quarter-inch plywood blocking supported by a three-by-four-by-quarter-inch steel angle. Shims are placed as required beneath the frame. Sheathing tape extends up the window angle to form a continuous sill pan. A three-eighths-inch joint filled with backer rod and sealant separates the aluminum sill from the adjacent stone cladding over a fluid-applied waterproof membrane. Wall construction incorporates foam-plastic board insulation sheathing and two inches of spray polyurethane foam insulation, with all sheathing joints taped to maintain a continuous air barrier. Three-quarter-inch flat trim finishes the interior sill condition.
