A guardrail assembly is constructed from 1 1/2 inch by 1 1/2 inch by 1/8 inch hollow structural section members painted safety yellow. Posts are spaced at a maximum of 4 feet on center and welded directly to a steel bent plate that forms a toe plate at the platform level. Intermediate rails and a top guardrail complete the assembly, rising to a minimum height of 3 feet 6 inches above the top of the platform. The bent plate connects to the structural framing of the platform edge.
