This ceramic tile shower receptor assembly sets over a depressed concrete subfloor with a continuous bonded waterproof membrane extending to the full height of the tile assembly. A sloped mortar bed rests over a mortar bed bond coat or cleavage membrane, directing moisture toward the drain equipped with weep holes protected by pea gravel. Flexible sealant is applied at the wall-to-floor transition joint. Solid backing supports the vertical tile assembly set with a cementitious bond coat.
