A buckling-restrained brace connects to a gusset plate welded near the base of a steel column. The column is supported by a base plate sized per plan, with ground level established at elevation fifty-four feet one inch. A gusset plate is installed per the buckling-restrained brace manufacturer's specifications and connects to the brace member. Stiffeners are provided on each side of the column web only if required by the manufacturer.
