A typical cold-formed steel stud of required size and gauge terminates at a slip track secured with screws. A continuous metal plate spans two ribs of the metal deck above, attached with screws on each side of the stud. Screws fasten the slip track and deck plate to each stud as required. The metal deck itself is provided by others.
