This assembly details the intersection of a metal stud partition wall with a concrete masonry unit wall. The partition consists of metal stud framing with batt insulation where scheduled, enclosed by gypsum wall board on both sides. Fire caulk is applied at the junction between the gypsum board and the masonry face to maintain the fire rating. A vapor barrier is installed to tie together behind the wall at the intersection point to ensure continuity of the building envelope.
