A five-inch by eight-inch by five-eighth-inch thick steel base plate welds to a steel column per plan with a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld all around. The assembly secures with two five-eighth-inch diameter by twenty-inch embedment F1554 anchor bolts featuring heavy hex nuts or bolt heads at the bottom. The steel column and base plate tie directly into a concrete masonry unit wall per plan, positioned one and one-half inches from the edge of the plate to the center of the anchor bolt.
