A partition terminates below a suspended ceiling grid system with a continuous two-inch wide neoprene filler separating the top track from the ceiling runner. Casing beads finish the gypsum board edges on each side of the joint, maintaining a one-eighth inch clearance from the grid components. The ceiling grid is suspended independently above the partition junction.
